In the first place, roller skating is great fun. It’s a unique form of recreation that everybody can join – including the young and old. Learning how to do skating doesn’t take a lot of effort. With a little practice, you can successfully enjoy the picturesque Tricity’s paths settled on a seaside.
Roller skating infrastructure in Tricity, as one of very few places in the country, is being constantly developed. Every year new paths for roller skaters are opened. The first professional race track in Poland is being built around the Energa Stadium in Gdansk. In near future, it will be a wonderful place for training, but also a perfect one for the marathon to conduct.
SKF Twister Trójmiasto, the organizer of the Lech Walesa August Marathon, actively supports all events that favor roller skating and its development. „Gdansk do inline skating” is the motto, which appears in every edition of the competition and many other roller skating events in Gdansk. By organizing the marathon, we hope that inline skating will become more popular and the number of participants will grow every year. Our goal is to make Gdansk known as roller skate capital of Poland.
